GH
Ranch Wildland Fire History
We are a fire fighting, trucking and heavy equipment business
that was built around a logging business that we were operating
until the timber sales dropped dramatically. Since 1989,
we have primarily been doing reforestation projects, both
mechanical and handwork, as well as fire fighting.
We initially started in wild land fires with
our water tenders, but later added engines and then hand
crews. GHR has been on the Region 6 Engine/Tender and Hand
Crew agreements since 1994, and worked under EERA's prior
to then. We had four 20 person hand crews in the 2003 season,
seven Type 6 engines, two Type 2 tenders and 30 time recorders..
We are able to provide both labor and equipment
to help sustain healthy forests. We can provide mechanical
thinning of large areas to help provide Urban Interface
Boundaries or to provide active fire line breaks. We can
also provide Engines, Tenders and Hand Crews to fight wildland
forest fires.
Our trucking division is able to deliver your
loads across the country as well as up and down the West
Coast.
G H Ranch belongs to Oregon Firefighting Contractor's
Association (OFCA) which is a group of individual companies
combining together to provide a stronger voice when working
with various agencies to promote contract wildland firefighting
companies. You can find out more about OFCA by going to
